★Graduate students Yamaji and Tomita from the Fujii laboratory receive awards at the Society for the Study of Exercise and Body Temperature

Members of Associate Professor Fujii’s laboratory received awards at the 40th Research and Presentation Meeting on Exercise and Body Temperature, held at Hirosaki University on September 24. Graduate student Tomita and colleagues received the Grand Prize, while graduate student Yamaji and colleagues received the Award for Excellence. The presentations were as follows.

Kodai Yamaji et al.: Effects of high skin temperature on nitric oxide synthase-dependent cutaneous vasodilation during incremental exercise in the heat

This study examined the effects of high skin temperature on nitric oxide synthase (NOS)-dependent cutaneous vasodilation during incremental exercise in the heat. The findings suggest that, during high-intensity exercise in the heat under conditions of elevated skin temperature, NOS-independent mechanisms may contribute to the augmentation of cutaneous vasodilation.

Yudai Tomita et al.: Effects of TRPV3 channels on heat-dissipation responses during exercise in the heat

This study investigated the role of TRPV3 channels in human skin in heat-dissipation responses during moderate-intensity exercise in the heat. The findings suggest that TRPV3 channels may play a different role in cutaneous vasodilation during exercise in the heat compared with local skin heating.

Furthermore, in the Fujii Laboratory, graduate student Aoka Ichikawa placed 1st in the 5km time race, a hallmark event.
