★Research by assistant professor Amemiya and graduate student Sakai has been awarded at an international conference
Research by ARIHHP Assistant Professor Amemiya and his graduate student, Sakai, was awarded the Best Poster Presentation Award in the Sports & Performance Psychology category at the 10th ASPASP International Congress.
In this study, we examined factors associated with decision-making regarding presenteeism (participating in practice despite having physical or psychological issues and engaging in a practice without taking part in desired social activities) among adolescent athletes using decision tree analysis, a machine-learning method.
The results revealed that decisions regarding presenteeism are associated with a combination of factors, including the athlete’s intention to participate in practice, the coach’s behavior and team norms.
This award is presented to the top oral presenter and the top poster presenter in each of the five categories.
