Professor Emeritus Soya, Assistant Professor Okamoto, and Dr. Hiraga’s Article Was Published in Neurochemistry International
A research article by Professor Emeritus Hideaki Soya (Visiting Professor at the Center for Cybernics Research / Former Director of ARIHHP), Assistant Professor Masahiro Okamoto, Dr. Taichi Hiraga, and their colleagues has been published in Neurochemistry International and announced through a university press release.
Regular light-intensity exercise, such as slow running, has been shown to facilitate the extinction of fear memory, a critical process for alleviating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Shimoda et al., MSSE, 2024). This study suggests that reduced fear recall-related activity in the dorsal CA3 subregion of the hippocampus underlies this behavioral efficacy.
