★A paper by Associate Professor Byun, formerly affiliated with ARIHHP, Researcher Hyodo, Professor Emeritus Soya, Visiting Professor Yassa, and Assistant Professor Kuwamizu has been selected for an international journal award
We are pleased to announce that the research paper titled “Mild exercise improves executive function with increasing neural efficiency in the prefrontal cortex of older adults”, authored by Associate Professor Kyeongho Byun (Incheon National University, former Assistant Professor at ARIHHP, co–first author), Researcher Kazuki Hyodo (Meiji Yasuda Health Foundation, co–first author), Professor Emeritus and Visiting Professor Hideaki Soya (University of Tsukuba, former ARIHHP Professor, co–corresponding author), Visiting Professor Michael A. Yassa (University of Tsukuba, former ARIHHP Professor, co–corresponding author), Assistant Professor Ryuta Kuwamizu (ARIHHP, University of Tsukuba), among others, has been selected for the 2025 Publication Award Honorable Mention by GeroScience, the official scientific journal of the American Aging Association.
This award recognizes scientific papers that have made outstanding contributions to the field of aging research. The project was conducted with support from the Invitation Program for Overseas Educational and Research Units hosted by the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences and ARIHHP at the University of Tsukuba, in collaboration with the University of California, Irvine, between 2016 and 2023.
