Researchers at the University of Tsukuba conducted a detailed investigation of changes in arterial structure and function associated with athletic characteristics, focusing on the various functions that vascular endothelial cells perform to maintain vascular health. The study was conducted on college baseball players, divided into pitchers and fielders. The results revealed a trend toward lower vascular endothelial function, particularly in the brachial artery of the dominant arm of college baseball pitchers.
