★Associate Professor Sengoku published a new research in Frontiers in Sports and Active Living
Joint research product by Associate Professor Yasuo Sengoku, Professor Norimasa Hirai (Toyo University) and Professor Masaki Ishikawa (Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences) has been published in Frontiers in Sports and Active Living.
This research clarified that maximal lactate accumulation rate is a parameter associated with the 50 m front crawl performance in male swimmers, and a higher glycolytic power leads to faster times at the beginning of a sprint race. It also indicated that maximal lactate accumulation rate can assess a swimmer’s ability to apply force to the water during high-intensity swimming.
It was suggested that maximal lactate accumulation rate is a good indicator of front crawl sprint performance for well-trained male swimmers.
